*Note: This event has been moved to January 25th because of cold weather.
The Smith Blackburn Homestead was protected by EALT in 2018. Work is underway for an official opening in 2020, but you can get an early sneak peek! Join us to explore this winter wonderland and discover some of the incredible creatures that live here. We will look for wildlife and their tracks while snowshoeing through a beautiful landscape.
We will meet at Capilano mall at 9:00 am to carpool to the Smith Blackburn Homestead. We will finish and be on our way back by 2 pm. Wear winter boots and warm, layered clothing. Bring a lunch and water, and a camera or binoculars if you'd like. Snowshoes are highly recommended. If you don't have your own, you can rent snowshoes from several outdoor sport outfitters, such as MEC and Totem Outfitters. Additional information will be sent to you in advance of the event.
Note: If the temperature is forecasted to be below -15 before windchill we may reschedule or cancel this event for the safety of participants.
This event is now full, thank you for your interest!
