Last year, we opened our newest land, JBJ McDonald, to the public. Since then, we’ve identified more things that need to be done in order to make the land the safest and best it can be for wildlife and humans alike. This land is almost adjacent to the Lu Carbyn Nature Sanctuary and Lily Lake Natural Area, supporting contiguous habitat for wildlife to travel through. This land is a stunning boreal ecosystem, and we are delighted to have our volunteers experience it with us.
There are some old remnants of barbed wire and scrap metal that have become entwined into the surrounding ground and vegetation, posing a risk to wildlife and visitors alike. At this event, we will be removing the wire and scrap metal from the land.
