Country Living Expo

EALT has been invited to attend the Country Living Expo in Morinville on April 1st! This event will feature drop-in information sessions, a conversation area, local vendors and a concession area, all centered around a love for rural living. We will be setting up an information booth to engage with attendees about who we are, what we do, and our work in conservation.

One of our conservation lands, Boisvert’s Greenwoods, is located close to Morinville, so we will also talk about the property to those who may not know about it.

Only one of our staff is available to attend, so we’re looking for volunteers to come with us! This opportunity will involve speaking to the public, representing EALT in a professional manner, and learning more about who we are and what we do. If you don’t feel you know enough about us to be able to participate, don’t worry, we will brief you on everything that you need to know. We will also have a paper resource to refer to in case you get stuck - but a staff member will be present the whole time to help you out as well.

Event Details:

The event begins at 10:00 am at the Morinville Cultural Community Centre. You must have your own transportation to get to Morinville. Volunteers should plan to meet us at the venue. The event will last until 3:30 pm.

There will be 2 shifts to choose from, but if you would like to attend for the whole day, you may do so. The first will be from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm, and the second from 1:00 pm to 3:30 pm.

What to bring and wear:

  • Wear casual or semi-casual clothes that don’t feature any offensive logos or slogans

  • Water bottle

  • Snacks for yourself

You will be provided:

  • An EALT branded vest to go over your own clothing

Once you are confirmed as a volunteer, we will send you health and safety materials to read through, as well as a volunteer agreement to fill out in advance of the event. We will also send a document containing our talking points and FAQs.

We hope that you’ll join us! Click the button below, and you will be directed to a form to apply for the Conservation Outreach Volunteer program. Please submit the form to get access to the SignUp for this event.
