Trail Maintenance at Boisvert's GreenWoods

Boisvert's GreenWoods is a patch of old growth forest that provides habitat for many species of mammals, birds, and plants, with a winding trail that allows many visitors to experience nature up close. EALT staff and volunteers maintain the trail each year through mowing, hand clipping, and sawing and removing fallen trees. This old growth forest is aging, and fallen trees have begun to line the sides of the trails, limiting our ability to mow. We are going to move these fallen trees further from the trail at this event, plus some light trail clipping if time permits.

We will meet at Boisvert’s GreenWoods at 9:30 am, and leave the site by 2:30 pm. Wear appropriate footwear and long pants, and bring a lunch, water, hat, sunscreen/bugspray, and a camera or binoculars if you'd like. If you have your own gloves to bring we recommend that you do so, but otherwise tools and gloves will be provided. Additional information will be sent to you several days in advance of the event.

UPDATE: In support of public health and the health and safety of EALT staff and volunteers, EALT is requiring proof of vaccination for our stewardship events. Please plan ahead by saving a digital copy of your vaccination record on your phone or printing it out and bringing your record to the event.

If you have not yet completed your second dose, please plan to join a stewardship event once you are fully vaccinated. If you have a medical exemption or have youth under 12 who are not yet eligible for the vaccine, please contact EALT in advance of registration.

For more information on accessing your vaccination records, visit https://www.alberta.ca/covid19-vaccine.aspx. You can download or print your record in the express system at: https://www.albertavaccinerecord.ca/#/

We thank you for supporting public health and the health of EALT staff and volunteers in this challenging time.
