Sign Installation at JBJ McDonald

It is that very exciting time where we first get to introduce our volunteers to a new land - JBJ McDonald! This land is almost adjacent to the Lu Carbyn Nature Sanctuary and Lily Lake Natural Area, supporting contiguous habitat for wildlife to travel through. This land is a stunning boreal ecosystem, and we are delighted to give our volunteers a first glimpse of it.

We are aiming for a 2022 opening, and to do so we will need to install map, boundary, and directional signs throughout the land to prepare to open it to the public. We need help to carry heavy signs and metal posts throughout the land and to install them.

We will meet at JBJ McDonald promptly at 10:00 AM, and leave the site by 2:30 PM. Wear appropriate footwear and long pants, and bring a lunch, water, and a camera or binoculars if you'd like. Waterproof footwear is strongly recommended for this property, as there are a few wet areas on the routes we will be posting signs on. If you have your own gloves to bring we recommend that you do so, but otherwise tools and gloves will be provided. Additional information will be sent to you several days in advance of the event.
