Nest Box Maintenance at Pipestone Creek

Pipestone Creek Conservation Land is a beautiful site near Coal Lake, and borders the creek it is named after. This site is home to many wildlife, and EALT also supplements the habitat here by providing nest boxes for bluebirds, tree swallows, chickadees, house wrens, owls and kestrels. Cleaning and maintenance of these boxes ensures there is fresh nesting material for the birds, disease transfer is prevented, and they are warm and dry.

This small event will involve removing old nesting material and then sanitizing the boxes. Replacement of old boxes will also be a major task at this event, as many of the boxes at this land have deteriorated over time.

We will meet promptly at 10:00 am at the land.
