Boisvert's GreenWoods is a patch of old growth forest that provides habitat for many species of mammals, birds, and plants. EALT maintains bird boxes on this land to add to this valuable habitat. It is time to clean out old nesting material from the bird boxes to make room for next years occupants, and we could use some helping hands! We also need some help clipping back shrubs that are growing along the trail so that everyone can access this area to admire our feathered friends.
We will meet at Boisvert’s GreenWoods at 9:00 am, and leave the site by 2 pm. Wear appropriate footwear and long pants, and bring a lunch, water, hat, sunscreen/bugspray, and a camera or binoculars if you'd like. If you have your own gloves to bring we recommend that you do so, but otherwise tools and gloves will be provided. Additional information will be sent to you several days in advance of the event.
While we resume our volunteer stewardship events, we are committed to implementing actions to comply with public health measures and workplace guidance to reduce risk of COVID-19 among staff, volunteers, and the general public. We will also be implementing updated EALT health and safety policies and procedures to support a safe work and volunteer environment. Please read our guidelines for volunteering during COVID-19 here. We thank you for your understanding and support as we roll out these safety measures.
Stewardship events are weather-dependent and subject to cancellation.
