How many of these things can you find in nature? Can you find some of them in your own backyard? Once you start looking you’ll be amazed at what you can find!
This is meant as an I-spy Nature Bingo, which means we encourage people to use their eyes, and maybe even there noses a bit, while they search. Please try to refrain from picking plants and/or taking natural items home if you are at one of EALT’s conservation lands or any other protected area. We want to make sure they continue to be part of they natural cycles in which they belong.
What You’ll Need
A printed Nature Bingo sheet (or a blank piece of paper to make the grid and copy the items down)
A printed Nature Bingo Key (page 2)
Post-It notes or some type of removable sticker (if you’d like to be able to re-use the activity sheet. If not, you could use any type of sticker or a marker)
Optional: a camera to take photos of the bingo items
What To Do
Print out or write up your bingo sheet.
Decide on an area to explore to find the bingo items. You could stick to your backyard, or go to a park.
When you spot an item, stick a post-it note or sticker on the square on the grid. For added fun, you can take a picture of each item.
If you find five items that complete a row, column, or diagonal, you’ve won! Extra bonus if you find every item in the grid!
Ask Yourself
Did you find some of the items multiple times? Were some items harder to find than others?
If it were a different season, do you think you would be able to find the same things? Do you think you’d find different things?
Were there any animals, plants, or tracks you were surprised to find?
What did you like most about spending time outdoors?
