UPDATED: Trail Clearing near Arnault Lake

As you may know, EALT has been hard at work securing more natural areas over the past two years. As part of this effort, we now have the privilege of stewarding a new property near Arnault Lake (in Lac Ste. Anne County) that we could use some help with. Since the land has not been announced to the public yet, this is an exclusive chance to see this site.

Later this summer there will be some events to control invasive plants at the land. However, this site is very remote and has limited access to the weed patches. At this event, volunteers will help clear a new trail through the land. This will involve hand tools such as pruning loppers, hedge trimmers, and pruning saws.

Since this land is not open to the public yet, the location and directions from Edmonton will be sent to you in an email preceding the event, along with other details about the day.

We will meet at the land at 10:00 am, and leave the site by 3:00 pm. Wear appropriate footwear and long pants, and bring a lunch, water, hat, sunscreen/bugspray, and a camera or binoculars if you'd like. If you have your own gardening tools and gloves to bring we recommend that you do so, but otherwise tools and gloves will be provided.
