Golden Ranches, as you might expect, was once a ranch filled with grazing cattle. Many years later, it is protected for wildlife, including nesting birds. EALT maintains bird boxes on this land to add valuable habitat for Tree Swallows, Mountain Bluebirds, and House Wrens among its open fields. It is time to clean out old nesting material from the bird boxes to make room for next years occupants, and we could use some helping hands!
We will meet at 8:30 am and carpool to the site, getting back around 3-4 pm. Wear sturdy shoes and comfortable clothes, and bring a lunch, water, hat, sunscreen/bugspray, and a camera or binoculars if you'd like. Tools, gloves and extra snacks will be provided. Additional information will be sent to you several days in advance of the event.
