New Jubilee Conservation Land is a conservation easement in the northeast corner of the city of Edmonton. New Jubilee contains one of the largest remaining tracts of old-growth forest within the city of Edmonton, making it key habitat for a diversity of wildlife. This land is not open to the public so this event is a rare opportunity to visit this stunning land. Like many of our other conservation lands, invasive species outcompete native species for habitat and resources. At this event, we will walk a short distance to remove some buckthorn shrubs. This species is a problem because it outcompetes native shrubs and other plants, reducing overall biodiversity.
We will meet at New Jubilee Conservation Lands promptly at 9:30 AM, and leave the site by 2:30 PM. Wear appropriate footwear and long pants, and bring a lunch, water, and a camera or binoculars if you'd like. If you have your own gloves to bring we recommend that you do so, but otherwise tools and gloves will be provided. Additional information will be sent to you several days in advance of the event.

This land is located within city limits but is is not accessible by public transit.
