With COVID-19 still a concern in Alberta, leaving many unable to travel as a result, the people of Edmonton need some well-deserved time outside. There are several trails and natural spaces in and around Edmonton that can allow people to spend some much-needed time outside this summer. For example, Bunchberry Meadows, which was recently featured on CBC’s Our Edmonton with Adrienne Lamb. EALT’s Conservation Manager, Rebecca Ellis, was interviewed for this feature.
Bunchberry Meadows is approximately 640 acres, and is located southwest of Edmonton near the U of A botanical gardens. Bunchberry is a part of the Devon Dunes Environmentally Significant Area, and is also an important wildlife corridor. It also contributes to land connectivity due to its proximity to other natural areas.
It is an important land for our local wildlife, but is also an excellent option for Edmontonians looking to get into nature and explore new places.
