15 Years, 15 Conservation Lands

Continuing our blog series for EALT’s 15th anniversary, today we’re showcasing what EALT is all about: our conservation lands! Each place has a different story, in how it was acquired, how it got its name, and what specific features can be found on each one.

These places are the reason our organization exists, and each one offers a place for humans and animals to enjoy the natural beauty of the Edmonton area. Averaging at roughly one land acquired per year, we serendipitously now have 15 conservation lands - 15 lands in 15 years! Keep reading to learn the stories about each one.

None of these securements would have been possible without the generous support of our donors, sponsors, and volunteers. If you have contributed in any way to EALT over the past 15 years, whether it was time or money, we sincerely and deeply thank you for taking direct action in conserving local natural areas. Here’s to many more years of protecting land and building relationships with local organizations, landowners, and people!
