Winter Walk at Sundew Conservation Land

Named after a plant that is found in peatlands, Sundew Conservation Land conserves 151 acres of boreal forest north of Edmonton in Westlock County. This land is a mosaic of wetlands, so it is best navigated in winter to reduce damage to the landscape. We are excited to offer EALT supporters an opportunity to visit this conservation land at a time best for exploring it! Join us in the cool winter weather and enjoy a hike while searching for wildlife. We will explore the land with snowshoes and survey for animals and animal tracks.

We will begin the walk at 11:00 am and be finished by 2:00 pm. This event involves walking up to 2.5 kilometers on uneven terrain (there are no maintained trails at this land). Additional information will be sent to you several days in advance of the event. The land is located in Westlock County, about a 1 hour drive from the center of Edmonton.
