Weeding for Wildlife at Golden Ranches

Our Golden Ranches conservation site next to Cooking Lake is a large 1,400 acre conservation area in the heart of the Cooking Lake Moraine. This site provides important habitat for wildlife as they move throughout the landscape, and helps connect the landscape between Elk Island National Park, Blackfoot Provincial Recreation Area, Ministik Bird Sanctuary, and other protected areas in the region.

Join EALT and other Golden Ranches Partners as we work to remove invasive plants such as common tansy in order to improve the quality of habitat for wildlife.

We will meet at 8:30 am and carpool to the site, getting back to Edmonton around 3-4 pm. Wear sturdy shoes and comfortable clothes, and bring a lunch, water, sunscreen, insect repellent, and a camera or binoculars if you'd like. Tools, gloves and extra snacks will be provided. Additional information will be sent to you several days before the event.

Email Steph at steph@ealt.ca to sign up or for more information.
