As part of our Protecting Pollinators program, EALT staff and volunteers build bee hotels for native solitary bees to nest in. Typically these are sold to support our conservation work. We have a number of hotels that are nearly ready, but we could use some volunteer help with minor touch-ups. This involves adding paper straws to the hotels to keep blocks from shifting and fixing some pieces using a cordless drill. All tools are provided. We are going to hold a small event at the EALT office and work as a group.
The event will run from 1-3pm; please arrive on time so we can complete a short safety training talk.
We will provide gloves and safety glasses, but you are welcome to bring your own. Additional information will be sent to you several days in advance of the event.
Please note that all volunteers must provide proof of vaccination and wear masks while working in EALT’s office for everyone's safety. We thank you for supporting public health and the health of EALT staff and volunteers in this challenging time.
Please contact us in advance if you wish to bring a minor to this event.
