International Migratory Bird Day Nature Walks at Bunchberry Meadows

International Migratory Bird Day is May 12th

Together, the Edmonton Nature Club and the Edmonton and Area Land Trust are participating in this global day of awareness on conserving migratory birds and their habitats.

Nature walks focusing on birds and plants will be held at Bunchberry Meadows both in the morning and afternoon. This new conservation property is located a few minutes west of Edmonton, near the Botanic Gardens. Click here for a map of how to get there.

Two walks will be led by experts from the Edmonton Nature Club. Register below for one of two nature walks:

  • 8:00 AM - Bird focused nature walk.
  • 1:00 PM - Birds and plant identification nature walk.

Effort required: Approx. 4.5 kms on good trails. The pace will be slow, allow 3 hours.  It’s recommended to dress in layers, sunscreen and insect repellent as needed, wear a hat and appropriate shoes/boots.

Bring water and snacks, and binoculars, camera or field guides if you would like. The site has parking space for several vehicles, as well as picnic tables and washrooms.
