Coates is a stunning EALT Conservation Land that incorporates beautiful mixedwood forest, steep valley, trickling creek, and history (fossils!). We have recently installed a new trail to replace a steep eroding trail that passed through our neighbours land. In order for people to fully appreciates Coates, we want to install educational and directional signs, and we could use some help to install them. We will also move a few fallen logs to block the old trail and allow it to regrow. Come learn about Coates and be some of the first to walk our new trail!
We will meet at 8:30 am and carpool to the site, getting back around 3-4 pm. Wear sturdy shoes and comfortable clothes, and bring a lunch, water, hat, sunscreen/bugspray, and a camera or binoculars if you'd like. Tools, gloves and extra snacks will be provided. Additional information will be sent to you several days in advance of the event.
