In this workshop, you’ll create a bee hotel to provide a nesting site for solitary bees. Solitary bees, unlike social bees, are not aggressive, and are very efficient pollinators. We depend on pollinating insects for much of our food, but pollinators are declining worldwide. By building a bee hotel, you can help urban pollinators by providing a place for them to lay their eggs. The hotel is simple to build, and participants must bring their own cordless drill, extra battery & charger (if applicable), and drill bit set. In the workshop, you’ll also learn more about bees and other things that you can do to protect pollinators.
